The Bridge Institute now has a home in India. Bridge Institute India Foundation was incorporated in New Delhi on 16 May 2024 as a not for profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013.
India is where much of our work began. Since 2017 the Kalinga Fellowship has brought together leaders from government, business, civil society and the police with survivor leaders to tackle human trafficking, child marriage and gender-based violence. In Jammu and Kashmir, our changemaker programmes support young people taking on challenges in their own communities.
The foundation means this work can be led and governed in India. Shashi Velath, who co-founded the Bridge Institute, is one of its directors.
