Two nations, one mission: removing billions of tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere
Tim Kruger on why the world must remove billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, and how leaders from the UAE and the UK came together to plan for it.
To limit global warming, the world has to cut emissions and also remove billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year. With the British Embassy in the UAE, the Bridge Institute is exploring a global Carbon Dioxide Removal Centre of Excellence.
This gathering brought scientists, policymakers, business leaders, academics and investors from the UAE and the UK together to shape how nations can raise their commitments to carbon removal. Tim Kruger brought the science and decarbonisation expertise, and Mac McKenzie led the process of bringing the system together.
